Make clean PDF's of web resources with Evernote Clearly

Have you ever come across a great article on the web that is plagued by distracting ads or other content? Clearly is a tool that cleans off all the distraction and provides a clean minimal copy of the article you want to read. You can click this link to see Clearly in action. The power of clearly can be used to create clean pdf's of these same resources.

To do so on a Mac computer:
Click the "Print" icon in the clearly window.
Click the PDF button in the Print dialog window.Select Save as PDF from the options presented.
Give the file a name and select where you would like to save the file.Click Save. To do so on a Windows computer:
Click the "Print" icon in the clearly window.Select Primo PDF from the Name field of the Print dialog window and click OK.You may receive an error message that mentions that the file name contains invalid characters. Moodle and SchoolDude

Over the summer the Physical Plant and Information Technology (IT) offices implemented a new request tracking software called SchoolDude. Physical Plant is using the application called MaintenanceDirect and IT is using the ITDirect application. Requests involving repair, support or checking out IT equipment or systems OR requests for services, repair or support relating to buildings, rooms, maintenance or housekeeping needs by Physical Plant are entered and tracked by the SchoolDude system. Both offices made the changes in order to provide improved services to the campus community and more effectively communicate and track the status of requests.

What does this mean for Moodle? Any support requests related to Moodle or any requests for Moodle Groups courses may be entered into SchoolDude.

To do so:

1. Navigate to the SchoolDude Requestor page and enter your Beloit College email address to log in.

Attendance in Moodle

It is now possible to take attendance in Moodle!

In response to faculty request this activity/block have been added to Moodle. The activity is very simple to set up and manage. Taking attendance is very easy. This activity also connects to the Moodle grade book so that a teacher can use attendance as part of a class grade. The activity can also be used to track participation, allowing the teacher to set custom variables and add feedback/notes about each entry. Getting to know the new Moodle

Due to the recent upgrade to Moodle, many of the familiar Moodle editing icons have changed.  Above is a quick video tutorial that walks through the main editing icons and explains their functions.
